The 5-Max Scout is an evolution of the popular 5-Max folder. The same aggressive size and style, but built from modest materials. A 5" AUS-10 Steel blade with a stonewashed finish instead of S35VN and glass-filled nylon handle scales instead of G10. This lets Cold Steel offer you a rugged, large-format folder with 90% of the original's performance at less than half the price. Have no fear, this more modest version still has stout stainless steel liners and is equipped with Andrew Demko's groundbreaking Tri-Ad locking mechanism, which has passed every one of Cold Steel's and Andrew's grueling shock and impact tests and has gone on to hold 600 lbs. of free-hanging weight with no damage!
