Kizlyar Supreme Forester is one of those knives made for the forest. Such knives are also called knives for bushcraft or bushcrafters. The knife was developed in conjunction with the Forest team - guys who know firsthand why a knife is needed in the forest.
Forester is ideally suited for woodworking. First of all, we are talking about the geometry of the blade.
Like most knives of the Scandinavian system, the descents at Forester begin in the lower third, but they are not straight, like the classic “Scandi”, but have the shape of a slightly convex lens. Such a lens reduced to zero, without any micro-leads, gives the knife an incomparable cut in wood, while ensuring enormous stability of the cutting edge to any loads.
The knife itself has a Full-Tang design, that is, with an all-metal and a shank that completely repeats the shape of the handle. This is the most reliable knife design possible.
With a butt thickness of 3.4 mm, the safety margin is more than solid. Fantastic cut and durability are the trump cards of this forest guy. Another small but important detail is the simplicity of its maintenance in forest conditions.
The N690 steel from the Bohler concern, of which the blade is made, is characterized by high corrosion resistance, good retention of edge sharpness and resistance to power loads. And thanks to its high uniformity, it can be sharpened quite easily at a hardness of 60-61 HRC.
In the presence of a simple camp musut, editing the lenticular blade in the field will take a few minutes. A light handle made of walnut root provides the knife with a very comfortable balance. Its 3D processing with special cheeks-stops, and a special surface texture makes the grip comfortable, the hand does not strain even with prolonged use.
The leather case is also thoughtfully selected: the knife sits deep enough in it and is additionally fixed with an overlap strap. This gives confidence that the knife will definitely not fall out even if it clings to a branch or bush. In addition, the scabbard is equipped with a loop for flint or camping waste.
Forester will be an excellent companion for an avid tourist, hunter, fisherman, he is generally one of those guys who do not lie on the shelf and are always at work.
