Lucas Burnley is the founder and principal of Burnley Knives. Since 2003, he has been designing and crafting what he considers to be "contemporary tactical" knives, blending modern lines and construction with tactical origins. Underlying his work is the idea that utility shouldn't come at the cost of beauty. His clean design aesthetic is most evident in the flagship design of the Boker Plus Kwaiken.
In 2008, Lucas was asked by Boker to re-imagine his well known Burnley Kwaiken Classic—a cord-wrapped neo-Japanese fixed blade. Taking the overall feel and design language of its predecessor, the Boker Plus Kwaiken folding knife brought the design into the 21st century. Boasting a clean and utilitarian form, the Boker Plus Kwaiken has since become an iconic and influential design within the industry.
With its clean design, the Kwaiken Folder is probably one of the most popular knives in the Boker Plus series. As a true novelty for Boker Plus, they are for the first time presenting the blade made from Swedish powdered metal Damascus steel, better known as Damasteel. Its breathtaking visual appeal, superior edge-holding capability and stainless properties not only make Damascus steel blades true collectibles, but also fully capable utility knives for daily carry.
