The Magnum Japanese Iris is straightforward and clean with striking unadorned elegance. The slim pocketknife is clearly based on a Japanese Kwaiken design and has a blade of 440A stainless steel. It opens easily with a flipper and is secured with a sturdy liner lock. It comes with a lanyard hole and pocket clip (tip-up).

The American 440A is a decent starter steel. Boker uses it widely in their Magnum series. It is not to be confused with the higher-quality 440B and 440C.
